Relatively New to Me
Relatively new at eating Kimchee, after reading and hearing about the benefits of fermented foods, I decided to give it a try. So I went to my local Market Basket and searched around for some Kimchi. I located two different brands there. One was in the deli case and the other was in produce in a lightly refrigerated section next to cabbage and turnips. I decided to go with the one in the deli case. My thought was that since it was refridgerated it must be better. this was based on nearly nothing since fermentation does not happen with refrigeration. The brand was hard to figure out since it had asian lettering on it and then at the bottom, the company address. I looked it up online and found Bing Gre was the name.

The Taste Test
First off, I love anything pickled so this was not a big challege for me to try Kimchi. As a child my grandparents would make their own pickles and I remeber eating pickled green tomatoes and sweet kraut as well. Also, I am a bit of a “hot-head” and spicy foods are appealing to me. So I was hoping this Kimchi would fit nicely into my taste profile. So I open the jar and dug in. YUM! It was crunchy, sour, spicy and slightly fishy as well from the Asian fish sauce. So much flavor from just one bite, I had to dig in for more. So at this point, 2 minutes into it, I am hooked. I was already thinking about getting a spare jar and looked at the expiration date to see how long it would last.
My Final Thoughts & Rating: ★★★★★
Bing Gre Kim Chee is excellant tasting and a new addition to my daily Keto meal plan. I give this 5 out of 5 stars. Yes, it is that good. Hope you can find it and try it. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
